Those are La Palapa, Puerto Vallarta’s Oldest Restaurant on the famous Los Muertos Beach, and The El Dorado Restaurant and Beach Club right next door so you can enjoy that fantastic view of the Los Muertos Pier all lit up at night in beautiful colors, or during the day in its grand splendor for breakfast, lunch or dinner, seated with our toes in the sand right at the water’s edge. It’s so romantic, it’s so, Puerto Vallarta my friends.

Music Festival to Promote Awareness of The Rio Horcones Canyon
The big news and event coming up is tomorrow, Saturday the 11th, if you are in town you should head to Chico’s Paradise in Cabo Corrientes, along the Rio Horcones for a Music Festival Celebrating the great river. There will be food, music, dancing and commuting with nature along the Rio Horcones. The event is being held to Raise awareness about the fragile nature of the river and it’s ecosystems and to remind everyone that a hydroelectric dam on the river is a bad idea…
Yesterday morning I attended a press conference at the restaurant Hacienda de Carlotta on Lazaro Cardenas in the Emiliano Zapata Neighborhood, and refreshments were provided by The Julie Gurrero Real Estate Group. Thank you Julie. and I met the planners of the event as well as some of the local news people and bloggers who have the same passion as I do for the environment and for the Rio Horcones Canyon and the river. We have talked about this a lot on this show.
I has an opportunity to ask my friend and fellow conservationist Rosa who played the role of spokesperson for the concert…a couple of questions regarding the event, Rosa was there to speak to the Spanish reporters to make the announcement about the event, so lets go to the Hacienda de Carlotta and listen to that conversation….
Listen to The Podcast
Then I was able to talk with a very interesting guy, who will be MC ing the event and will also be performing, he’s Ricky Zen…lets talk to him right now….
All right, so, if you are in town, please consider coming up the river and joining us for music and dancing and commute with mother nature. Saturday, January 11th from 1 till 6 at Chico’s Paradise.
I have some old pictures of me and my wife at Chico’s in the 80’s, and I’ll post them in the shownotes, but please, if you are listening to the show today, the 10th of January, the blogpost will be totally completed over the next 24 hours, as I have time to add to it while I’m slaving away in paradise.
Remember, it’s for the Rio, the environment and the paradise we all know and love. And we can’t become confident that we won that battle to close down that construction site,
more like a destruction sight but we have to keep pounding that drum I’m afraid. We’ve talks about that. There are those who want control of that water and they won’t stop till they get what they want. So, they have to be reminded, and we have to remind ourselves that this multi headed hydra won’t stop. So, come down and celebrate the Rio Horcones, This Saturday January 11th from 1-6 PM. I have directions in the shownotes so I’ll see you there.

New road to Puerto Vallarta postponed again..
From the Mazatlan Post….
It is the fourth time they postpone the completion of the project. For all those travelers who expected to travel to Vallarta in record time in the next vacation, that desire has to wait since the Via Corta will be finished until the end of 2020.
According to the balance of works carried out during 2018, the Vía Corta project should have been completed by October 2019.
With information from Mural, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation reported only 56% of the progress of the project, which in turn should have been completed in 2014. The project has invested 6 million 454 thousand 36 pesos in total and still need economic resources to be able to conclude the journey.
The works of the Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta highway project began in 2012 with projections to be completed in two years. For its part with information from Mural, the SCT first announced that the section would be completed by April 2018, then in September, the last for October 2019 and now it was postponed until 2020.
The Nayarit Center of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation said that the work has not stopped in recent years, however many of the sections have required extra work.
The units trust that the road is ready by the end of 2020.

Barry Moving to a Different Airbnb in Cinco
Today is moving day for me… I’m currently in an Airbnb right on the Malecon, It’s called Malecon Uno. It’s across from Malecon Dos. It’s okay, it’s noisy here because when I look out my window, it’s on Morelos, the busy road into town, so it quiets down between one in the morning and 6, so that’s a thing right? I will say the internet is plenty fast for me at least.
Record Day Recording Interviews in The Puerto Vallarta Travel Show
Yesterday I had a record day for interviews. I did 6 of them. Wow, was I ready for a tequila shot and a beer chaser. Man. I was recording from 9 in the morning till 9:30 at night. And… they were all excelente as my friend Salvador, the Candyman on the Malecon would say, Excellente!
So, at noon today, I move to the Cinco de Diciembre Neighborhood, across the street from Ann Marie Weiss Armush, the Vallarta Abuelos and Cultural Tour Lady. So funny. Cool thing is there are two great View restaurants within crawling distance, Menos Place, It’s new, and very good. I think we’ve had a few people talk about that place…Tony from Balam Balam I think it was, and the other is La Traviatta. Lucky me. We’ll see if the internet is good or not. I’ll have more to say about the current Airbnb next episode as well as the new one, including pictures and video. So that will be next week so stay tuned for those reviews, as well as a wrap-up of this trip to paradise. All I can say now is, it’s sunny, it’s perfect weather. A little cool for the locals in the evenings. They’re all wrapped up it’s pretty funny. And the days are low 80’s, low humidity. It’s gorgeous I’m telling you. Come down, you don’t know what you’re missing. Or maybe you do, and you want me to shut up. So maybe we should get to the interview shall we??
