That music you were just listening to is performed by Alberto Perez, the owner of the La Palapa Group of Restaurants. Those are La Palapa, Puerto Vallarta’s Oldest Restaurant on the famous Los Muertos Beach, and The El Dorado Restaurant and Beach Club right
next door so you can enjoy that fantastic view of the Los Muertos Pier all lit up at night in beautiful colors, or during the day in its grand splendor for breakfast, lunch or dinner, seated with your toes in the sand right at the water’s edge. It’s so romantic, it’s so, Puerto Vallarta my friends.
This week we are visiting a new venue that just opened up right before the pandemic hit, it’s a butterfly sanctuary in Colonia Campo Verde, just south east of the Puerto Vallarta airport near the Vista Vallarta Golf Course. We will be talking with Krystian
Krys, you may remember him from Warique Restaurant, but before we get to Krys and the butterfly sanctuary, let’s see what’s happening in Puerto Vallarta this week, the 31st of October, 2020.

Puerto Vallarta Travel Show Returning To Vallarta November 8-15th
I’m still planning my second visit to Puerto Vallarta during the pandemic. The flight times and dates have not changed or been moved around like they were last time so that’s been a relief. I finally got my hoarding cat lady moved out of her house, and what do you know, she had a wheelchair that had never been used in her garage. So, I talked her out of it, and I’m bringing it down for Salvador Estrada the Candyman on the
Malecon. Man, last time down, when I was wheeling him around El Rio BBQ I noticed his chair was a in bad shape, so I need to contact Delta and see what I need to do to bring it down with me. That was a great find and luckily my hoarding client didn’t think she
needed it, and didn’t have any more room in her storage locker anyway. So good news for Salvador…but not so good for folks who like to stay out late and eat and drink, because just like in many parts of the world…cases of the rona are rising and
Alfaro Presses the Emergency Button…. Partially
I’ve been reporting to you about Governor of Jalisco Enrique Alfaro threatening to push the emergency button to lock down Jalisco and Puerto Vallarta again for another 14 days if certain numbers, combinations of positive cases, hospitalized and dead from Covid. I also have been telling you that he won’t shut down again and I was correct, but he is cracking down and limiting operation of night time businesses…well it’s a little complicated but let’s see what he is saying….
“We don’t have to lose jobs, we can’t stop the economy,” Alfaro said.
So as of Friday October 30, Nighttime activities in Puerto Vallarta, in the entire state of Jalisco have been limited. They have asked all non essential businesses to close at 8:30 in the evenings. That means bars, restaurants, shops, nightclubs, will all have to close up at 8:30 and they can reopen again at 6 in the morning. Farmacias, hospitals, labs, emergency services, Small corner markets, aberotes, supermarkets and OXXO’s funeral homes, gas stations, can remain open.
And for the next 14 days, those will be the restrictions. Activities begin again each day at 6 in the morning, with no restrictions, other than following proper protocols, for all non- essential businesses until 8:30 in the evening.
In parts of Jalisco, other than in Puerto Vallarta, the, there are no weekend activities allowed. Non Essential businesses will be closed, but in Puerto Vallarta, the businesses will remain open over the two weekends from 6 till 8:30.
However, they are messing with the beaches, restricting people’s access to sitting on the beach to between the hours of 6 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon from Monday through Sunday. All in an effort to slow the spread of the rona.
But hey, all is not lost, eat your dinner early or..actually, if you go to Nuevo Vallarta now, you can catch a late dinner and sit on the beach all day long….Man the world is upside down.
Now in Puerto Vallarta Public Transportation will be limited. Monday to Sunday from busses shut down at 10 p.m., restarting at 5:30 a.m. the next day. After 10 oclock, the busses will be allowed to finish their routes and drop off all their passengers. Ubers and other web app transportation platforms can operate till 9 oclock in the evening, and can drop off their last ride after that time until the end of the trip. Taxi service will remain the same, and taxistas are urged to take recommended cleaning and hygiene measures, and no more than three passengers on non-stop trips.
According to today’s cutoff, the incidence rate per million inhabitants reached 396.7, with 400 being the limit for pressing the button; on the other hand, hospital occupancy rose to 24.4%.
As long as we are at it… More restrictions on The Malecon today….
Access to Malecon will be denied during Dia de los Muertos
From Vallarta Today…
As part of the prevention measures against COVID-19 the municipal government of Puerto Vallarta calls upon the citizens to celebrate the tradition of the Day of the Dead from their home, and that on Halloween, October 31st, they do not go to the malecón, as it is done every year, in order to avoid possible congregation of people in this space and not to expose their health and well-being.
The deputy director of Civil Protection and Fire, Adrian Bobadilla Garcia, announced that to avoid crowds on the 30’st and 31’st of October Public Safety and Civil Protection staff installed filters at all entrances to the streets that give access to this area. Also, at the height of the hotel Rosita and El Caballito to invite citizens to not concentrate on the place and inhibit the celebration of Halloween in addition to requesting the use of mask and all health measures. In addition to all these actions, he indicated that he would be complying with the additional measures that the state government would be taking for its due fulfillment. “Until now, our function as a municipality is to invite people not to come to the boardwalk on October 31st so that many people do not accumulate because of the pandemic. To avoid bringing their children, to avoid infecting their children, to avoid bringing their elders, not to celebrate the 31st”.
The official recalled that by decree of the state government, in Jalisco all public events are cancelled on this date, and on Day of the Dead, both municipal authorities and private entities in public spaces all Day of the Dead celebrations from October 31st to November 2nd are completely prohibited. The cemeteries will be closed, and the city council will not put up altars as it does every year, it will not put up catrine, that is to inhibit people from coming.

Enough good new? Want to cry Uncle? Not so fast….there’s more
THERE WILL BE NO PILGRIMAGES THIS YEAR DUE TO A PANDEMIC. IT WILL BE VIRTUAL
That’s right…from Vallartya Opina Online….
Vallarta Port
The parish of Santa María de Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta reported its decision to cancel the mass pilgrimages through the streets of the Center, due to the health contingency that still exists throughout the country.
Traditional every year from December 1 to 12 for the anniversary of the invocation of the Virgin whose name this temple bears, this 2020 should be the exception and there can be no mass pilgrimage or religious festivals as is customary.
However, what will be there will be a tour of the Virgin through the roads that will be filmed and broadcast live on social networks, so that people can follow this ceremony.
However, the parish asks that people do not go to the street to follow the route, which will only be accompanied by a small delegation of people from the religious service itself and representatives of companies.
In addition, the Puerto Vallarta City Council has not yet defined whether or not it will give permission for the installation of food stalls in the streets of the center in what is formed as a traditional gastronomic tianguis on the occasion of these parties.
And I Have a link to that article in the show notes. So, if you are coming down specifically for the pilgrimage and to witness the yearly processions where neighborhoods and organizations and businesses traditionally dress up, and parade, down the streets…with the bells ringing and the songs las mananitias, it’s gonna all be virtual so as not to be spreading the rona ya know.
Next on the chopping block….New years…..film at 11. Or maybe midnight.
Remember I have a link to that opina online article in the shownotes….read um and weep.
Okay….How about some good news?

Last week I reported on a planned condo complex across from the famous marine sanctuary Los Arcos, just north of Mismaloya, and from
Condos at Los Arcos
Renderings of the condos planned for Los Arcos

Vallarta Reporters Comment Online
Vallarta Port
Protesters who currently have federal highway 200 taken and blocked in Mismaloya leaked the “renderings” type plans of the real estate project that a construction company would be building right on the beach in front of Los Arcos National Park.
In the plans, not only the erection of a huge hotel or condominium building can be seen, but the extension of a dock with a small marina to moor sailboats and boats, already very close to Los Arcos, a natural area that is protected and by restricting the number of boats in order to minimize environmental damage.
It is not specified which company is building the project, however, the plans are very official looking with pamphlets with beautiful architectural renderings of the completed project so the protesters determined the plans were the real thing.
For now, only a breakwater or stone pier has been built sticking out from the shore the sea in this national park, but no company has commented on the matter, it is not known from which firm the project is.
Estarían construyendo UNA MARINA en Los Arcos: filtran supuestos planos
We now do have the information as to who the builder is….
LOS ARCOS by PINNACLE
This is the future site of PARAISO by PINNACLE, a luxurious condominium project overlooking the famous Los Arcos National Marine Park. This secure jungle typesetting is located on the beach just 15 minutes South of Puerto Vallarta, your own piece of Paradise.
So I’m going to try to talk with someone at the Pinnacle Group when I’m down next week. I have a link to the website for the project, and renderings in the shownotes.
Let’s get to the interview shall we?
We are always looking for something different to do in Puerto Vallarta. That is kinda what we do here don’t we?
This next place is new. It’s not a new idea, but a wonderful addition to Puerto Vallarta which is already a colorful place, it’s a butterfly house. A mariposario. In Spanish, the word mariposa means butterfly so a mariposario is a Butterfly house or sanctuary.
Vallarta is blessed with some very beautiful varieties of butterflies, and at Mariposario Jardin Magico, they are collecting and raising and growing their collection of these fluttering colorful butterflies.
I first met the man in charge, the creator of Jardin Magico Krystian Krys at a great restaurant Warique. Remember Warique? They closed unfortunately, it was one of my favorites, and I interviewed Marcos way back in 2018 at Warique. Well, Krys is doing
something totally different at Jardin Magico. He’s heavily into butterflies.
I reached out to Krys last time I was down in August because I had planned originally to attend their grand opening before the plague hit, and when that happened, everything
got pushed back. Just like all over the world. But I really wanted to talk with him about his new project. I asked if he could meet with me at La Traviatta which is a rooftop restaurant in the Cinco de Diciembre neighborhood, atop the hotel Paloma Del Mar on
Calle Honduras and he said yes …yea! I have to warn you, the neighborhood dogs were having a great time during the interview, so consider it authentic background effects, directly from Mexico.
Let’s go right now, to Calle Honduras to the roof of the Paloma Del Mar, and let’s meet Krystin Keys, From Mariposario Jardin Magico, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

do it. Really. And when you do take one of these tours, email me about your experiences. Maybe you can come on-board and share with others what you liked or didn’t like about the tour. Again, contact me by clicking on the Contact us tab and sending off a message.
