It’s so romantic, it’s so, Puerto Vallarta my friends.
This week we venture into the Versalles Neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta for some Italian Food, You will meet Marco Bruzzone the owner of Fiamma Pizzeria and Beer Garden, great food and a lovely atmosphere. The Rio Horcones Music Festival Saturday March 26th at Los Veranos Canopy Tour
The Rio Horcones Music Festival is coming up This Saturday March 26th at Los Veranos Canopy Tours
Los Veranos Canopy Tour is located in the village of Las Juntas y Los Veranos about 10 minutes south of Boca de Tomatlán.
https://goo.gl/maps/vcycwr1VcQ9EmomJ9
– From Puerto Vallarta take highway 200 south and turn right at the main crossroad of Las Juntas y Los Veranos
– Those driving are encouraged to carpool as festival parking is limited (www.blablacar.com is one way to offer/request rides)
– Public transportation available: El Tuito bus; main stop at the cross of Venustiano Carranza / Aguacate in the Zona Romantica
– Those arriving by bus can walk along the river 1 km (.5 m.) from the stop at Las Juntas y Los Veranos to Los Veranos Canopy Tour.
By the Los Veranos Canopy Tour has a very cool new dinner spot dinner in the Jungle, riverside on the Rio Horcones. I’ve been in touch with them and they invited me to try it out when I get into town the end of April. If you get a chance in the meantime to try it out send me an email and let me know what you think. I have an embed of the review from a Facebook page called Jalisco de Mis Amores.
The lady speaks only Spanish, and she’s pretty, but she has a good video of the space which is very romantic along the Rio Horcones in the jungle…at night…for dinner. Very cool. Extremely romantic! Here’s what she says…from her Facebook report…
Looking for a new option to connect with nature and have a delicious dinner?
Dinner in the jungle is for you.
This new concept was developed by our friends from Los Veranos Canopy Tour , where just 10 minutes from Boca de Tomatlán, on the Federal Road 200, you will be able to discover the paradise of the landscape of the Los Horcones river while enjoying a lovely dinner with products harvested by them, from Garden to the table top.
The dinner begins with a delicious entrees accompanied by the drink of your preference; in the appatizer menu you will find delicious snacks, salads, soups, and as a main dish different cuts of organic meat with their respective side orders.
The dessert includes ingredients from its local harvest such as vanilla and coffee; we were told by chef Ricardo Morales that they will soon open the doors so that the eaters have a tour through the orchards where these foods will be harvested and live the complete experience of dinner in the jungle.
Recommendations: Even though it is tropical weather, it can change quickly, because at night when you are by the river, you can feel a little cold.
The dress code is usually tropical at night.
It is worth emphasizing that the service they offer was very comfortable, they made us feel at home, the view is spectacular and the feeling of contact with nature is unmatched.
Definitely recommend trying this and the other tours that Canopy Los Veranos has for you.
So thanks for that information from our friends at Jalisco de Mis Amores Facebook page. We need to have dinner amiga.
I’ll report back to you if you don’t get there first that is.
Oyster Festival in Tehuamixtle Saturday March 26th 2022
Now if you feel energized and ready for an adventure, and you like oysters….head on down to Tehuemixtle for the oyster festival….from El Groupo de Tinta Libre Facebook Page…
This coming Saturday March 26th…
All Ready For The Second
Ostion Festival in Tehua
Without a doubt that will be a success the second edition of the Ostion festival has been held next Saturday in Tehuamixtle, Cabo Corrientes municipality.
Neighbors in that community are ready to welcome hundreds of visitors to whom they will invite to taste that seafood named Tehua after being recognized as the capital of Ostion.
You can reserve your table in time at Cande’s Restaurant via Whatsap at 322 117 2914.
Tehua is located two hours from Puerto Vallarta and the road that communicates to those destinations is in good condition.
And I have a link to that FB announcement in the shownotes.
Remember it’s easy to get to Tehua, take a bus to El Tuito and hire a cab to take you down to the beach. It will take about 50 minutes by taxi and have the driver come back, or wait for you. It should cost you no more that 600 pesos each way, like $60 total US. Plus whatever you work out with the driver for the ride back. Then a bus back to Vallarta from El Tuito. Don’t forget the last bus out of El Tuito is 6pm. Don’t miss it or you will have an expensive cab ride back to town.
Anyway….if the Oyster festival, the Music Festival on the Horcones and the Mural Festival in Cinco de Diciembre aren’t enough for you this weekend don’t forget the Taco Fair at Puerto Magico… Here’s the announcement from our friend Edgar Rivas
Taco Fair at Puerto Magico Sunday March 27th
Come and try the best tacos from Puerto Vallarta, local restaurants and the original Mexican flavor together in one place!!
- Sunday 27th Puerto Mágico 4 to 11pm
- Free access
- Parking lot
And like all of the events that Edgar puts on, he will have Craft beer and mixologists
crafting cocktails spotlighting local breweries and distilleries. There will be live music. It will be a great event. Plus, it’s at Puerto Magico. You can shop and buy chocolate and ogle the cruise ships. Great fun! Free Parking and easy to get to.

New Rules For Canadian Travelers
And we have some New Rules Concerning Canadian Travel…From Banderas News dated March 21st…
Canada to Lift Pre-entry COVID-19 Testing Requirement
As of April 1, fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to provide a negative pre-entry COVID-19 test result to enter Canada by air, land or water. Fully vaccinated travelers seeking to arrive in Canada before April 1, 2022, must still have a valid pre-entry test.
Eliminating the testing requirement, which was announced by the federal government on March 17, is something that travel and tourism organizations have been calling for, arguing that the requirement presented an unnecessary logistical and financial burden on travelers.
However, passengers may still be subjected to mandatory, random PCR testing at the airport – in part to monitor for new, emerging COVID-19 variants – though they will not be required to isolate while awaiting their results.
Despite pre-arrival testing requirements being lifted for fully vaccinated travelers entering Canada at the end of the month, other pandemic travel rules still apply.
For example, vaccination rules in Canada haven’t changed at all.
If you’re planning to travel to Canada, you’ll still need to determine whether you qualify as a “fully vaccinated traveler” based on the Canadian government’s definition.
You’re considered vaccinated if you:
Have received at least two doses of a vaccine accepted for travel, a mix of two accepted vaccines or at least one dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and have received your second dose at least 14 calendar days before you enter Canada.
What vaccines are accepted?
- AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD
- Bharat Biotech
- Janssen/Johnson & Johnson
- Moderna
- Novavax
- Pfizer-BioNTech – including for children aged 5 to 11 years
- Sinopharm
- Sinovac
If your proof of vaccination isn’t in English or French, you’ll still have to get it translated. The “certified translation” has to include the stamp or membership number of a professional translation association that does it for you, and you’ll want to keep both the original version and the translated version with you while you travel.
Unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated travelers will still need to isolate and be tested on arrival, and again eight days later.
All travelers continue to be required to submit their mandatory information in ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) before their arrival in Canada. Travelers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may have to test on arrival and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status. Travellers taking a cruise or a plane must submit their information in ArriveCAN within 72 hours before boarding.
Federal officials say they will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Canada and abroad, and changes may be made to travel requirements as the epidemiological situation evolves.
“Let us remember that all measures are subject to review,” said Canadian Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos. “We will continue to adjust them as the epidemiological situation here in Canada and abroad evolves.”

Fiamma Pizzeria and Beer Garden Colonia Versallas Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Listen to The Podcast
My friend Dean Regehr from Puerto Magico and actually from Cacao Magico, who we were just talking about in connection with our friends at Lix, introduced me to our next guest. Are you seeing how lots of these things are all interconnected? Dean said to me Barry, you need to meet my friend Marco. He runs one of my favorite restaurants. He’s Italian, and so is his food. Let me know if you want to come to Versalles. You will love his food, and this guy, you will love this guy.
So, I said, hook me up Dean! And sure enough, I was what’s app-ing with Marco as fast as you can say rigatoni and we made a date to break some bread.
Fiamma Pizzeria, Trattoria and Beer Garden is located on a quiet street in Versalles. You enter the outdoor area, section of the restaurant surrounded by walls painted with murals of scenes from Italy, potted plants, just a lovely area where you are transported to an Italian sidewalk café, or a sweet patio garden. The place has real energy. There is a custom made pizza oven where Marco and his chefs do their magic.
Let’s go right now and meet the man in charge of this beautiful place. Let’s sit on the Patio and speak with Marco Bruzzone, a passionate cook, restaurateur and artist… Wow, another restaurant owner who is an artist as well, are we seeing a pattern here? Maybe…Let’s go now to 111 Calle Havré Colonia Díaz Ordaz, and let’s talk with Marco Bruzzone, Fiamma, Pizzeria and Beer Garden, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Listen to The Podcast
