That’s the huge condo built on highway 200. The highway leading north into the Zona Romantica. Across the street from the big PEMEX gas station, and in the video I can see young men dressed in black with backpacks, on motorcycles get off their bikes, and with handgun in hand forced the drivers and passengers out of their cars, off busses, out of taxis, and when they had properly shooed them away, they would then drive the car to the place on the street where they wanted them, and set them ablaze. Of course they blocked all the entrances to the city, so there was a similar roadblock at the Ameca Bridge on the northern side of the 200 at the Nayarit State Border. Why? There’s lots of different opinions out there as to why, but it seems pretty clear that it had to do with money. In Mexico, you can pay your bills at your local OXXO. I was reading a Facebook Post from Randy, and he posted a picture from the roof of the Apartment building Debbie, and I have been living in for over a year now saying hey, check out our new view. It seems he and Normand had leased the studio on the roof of the building. Surprise, our friends are now our neighbors. He was witnessing the beginning of the damage done in Zona Romantica.

Let’s hear from Randy and see how he was able to calm the fears of some vacationers who happened to be caught in the confusion of the moment and brighten up that ugly day.

Let’s go to my balcony in Colonia Alta Vista and talk with Randy Winrow, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Listen To the Podcast

Thank you so much Randy.
