Then up at the 5th of December Cemetery at 7, up<a href=\"http:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4293\" src=\"http:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"863\" height=\"863\" srcset=\"https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route.jpg 863w, https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Parade-Route-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 863px) 100vw, 863px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>at the Pante\u00f3n 5 de Diciembre, they are going to actually have songs and music and dancing and jokes being told by the Centro cultural Vallarta troupe then the next day the morning of November 2nd there is a free guided tour of the cemetery in the Cinco December neighborhood and I have a map that shows you how to get there that is at 9 in the morning and then will be another one at 10 in the morning again it&#8217;s a guided tour of the cemetery and a review and an explanation of the family traditions of the Dia de los Muertos then at 2 also at the cemetery there will be Mariachis performing the infantile <a href=\"http:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2018-10-31_232324.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4292\" src=\"http:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2018-10-31_232324.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"666\" height=\"862\" srcset=\"https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2018-10-31_232324.jpg 666w, https:\/\/puertovallartatravelshow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2018-10-31_232324-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px\" \/><\/a>performance that&#8217;s the little children then at 5 there will be the traditional parade the procession called the \u201cDeath is Alive\u201d parade. It goes from the 5th of December Cemetery to Lazaro Cardenas Park and I have a map of the route in the show notes so check that out then later. Then, this is again November 2nd at 7:30 the joyful presentation and dance and jokes and what-not at the municipal Square,also at 7, The Day of the Dead Alters exhibition on the Malecon.<\/p>\n<p>Then over at La Isla shopping center they&#8217;re going to have the biggest traditional dead bread in Puerto Vallarta contest. I gave you the wrong info as far as the time change for JR\u2019s Meet and Greets. I said due to the time change the meet and greets are going from 5:30 to 6:30, well I got that totally screwed around. The cities of Acaponeta, Tecuala and Tuxpan to the north in the neighboring state of Nayarit were devastated.<\/p>\n<p>In Tuxpan the river that runs past flooded and almost everyone in that town lost everything to flood, and muddy silty goo. There are lots of efforts right now to get them food, water, mattresses, blankets, medicine, everything. It was all lost as well as their farms and crops. It\u2019s a pretty devastating situation. I have some pictures and links for you in the show-notes. There are organizations sending supplies from Vallarta so look around for those. I\u2019ll work them into the show-notes later in the week. As I said before, the increase from 7.5 pesos to 10 pesos doesn\u2019t affect the typical tourist, but a Mexican family of 4 that\u2019s an additional fare and a half. It\u2019s pretty steep for the locals.<\/p>\n<p>I have a friend who alerted me to a movement in Social media locally to protest the fare till all the buses are updated and the buses have air conditioning. Therefore, until that happens, we will continue to pay the normal rate.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Do it in a respectful way, record if necessary, respect the special places and above all keep the units clean.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Beware of Ketchup and Mustard on Pants Scam<\/h3>\n<p>Beware of the old mustard and ketchup scam. Beware of People being too attentive regarding Ketchup or Mustard stains on your clothing. It\u2019s actually an old trick, thieves have used this scam for some time they squirt a package of ketchup or mustard on your clothes while you aren\u2019t paying attention, then they call it to your attention and attempt to help you clean it off. They are trying to get your attention, so they can steal your wallet or something out of your purse or shopping cart.<\/p>\n<p>If this happens to you, don\u2019t accept help form any of them. make a big deal about it and tell them to get away from you and you don\u2019t want their help. Be loud, and retreat from them or the crowd and make it known all around you, that these people are trying to steal from you. But JR said to me, I spoke with her daughter Keoki, and told her you were coming to interview her mom. They are expecting you. So I stopped in one afternoon to set up an appointment and was introduced to Cyndi Alpenia, and what a lovely woman. We were in the main dining area where the waiters and busboys were preparing for the dinner crowd. It was cool and air conditioned, a peasant break from the October heat. The restaurant had reopened two days earlier from the summer break, so they had been working hard, getting ready for a great tourist season to begin again.<\/p>\n<p><a
